Meet Hibana ✨

Hibana is a kawaii bean making kawaii musical things. A singer-songwriter, live-loop artist, and classically trained koto player, she crafts whimsical musical journeys that blend acoustic and electronic textures, weaving together ambient, pop, and folk into a vibrant fusion of good vibes. Born in Puerto Rico and now based in Berlin, Germany, Hibana’s multicultural background infuses her music with a unique sense of warmth, creativity, and playfulness.

With a Bachelor’s in Music Composition from the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico (CMPR) and a Master’s in Creative Music Production from Catalyst Berlin, Hibana’s artistry is rooted in both technical mastery and boundless imagination. Her classical training in flute and piccolo, combined with around a decade of koto playing, allows her to seamlessly bridge traditional and modern sounds. Her versatility as a musician extends to her work as a jazz vocalist, having performed with renowned Puerto Rican artists like Charlie Sepúlveda and acts such as the Ran Can Can Burlesque Show. In 2019, she was featured on Fidel Osorio’s jazz album 40, lending her voice to the track “All The Way.”

In 2021, Hibana released her debut full-length album, Deeper Spaces, a dreamy exploration of her signature style that invites listeners into lush, introspective soundscapes. Whether she’s looping ethereal vocals, improvising on her koto, or layering intricate melodies, her music is an invitation to escape, dream, and feel.

Hibana’s live performances are a celebration of spontaneity and connection. She regularly shares her musical magic through programmed shows on Twitch.tv as HibanaSound, creating a space where audiences can join her on a whimsical journey of sound and emotion.
